Why I Made These Free Speech Therapy Apps/Tools
I created these free speech therapy apps and tools to support communication, routines, visual supports, and participation at home and during therapy sessions. They all work on tablets, phones, desktop or even offline too! Since I do both home health and telehealth, I needed tools that worked for multiple platforms!
The tools are available in English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and Portuguese and can be useful for a wide range of communication needs, including early language development, autism spectrum disorder, and everyday communication support even for people without language delays!
They reflect a bigger part of how I think about speech therapy. Therapy should support family goals and the person’s individual motivation. Therapy should be flexible and adaptive to every person, not forced to follow a pre-planned session.

The following is a summary of what I’ve made so far:
Early Communication Choice Board
You can add your own photos and personalized visuals to make communication choices meaningful and motivating for each child. For many early communicators, having a concrete visual can make it easier to understand choices and express wants, needs, and preferences.
You can record your own voice for each button, creating a personalized communication experience similar to a simple voice-output communication button.
Children can press a visual choice and hear the recorded message, providing a way to practice intentional communication while using familiar pictures of their own toys, foods, activities, people, or routines.
This tool can support children who benefit from visual supports for communication, requesting, making choices, and participating in daily routines, including many autistic children and children who are developing early communication skills.
It can be especially helpful when families are looking for immediate communication supports while waiting for more comprehensive AAC evaluations or dedicated AAC systems.
You can customize the choices based on the child’s current communication level, interests, and everyday environments.
Visual Schedule
You can take pictures directly from your phone or tablet, making the schedule concrete and meaningful to the child. You can also export it as a PDF to share with families, so if you’re a therapist, the visual support can carry over from your sessions into everyday life.
Customize the number of steps in a schedule based on a person's current language level, attention, and tolerance.
This tool can support children who benefit from visual supports for routines, transitions, communication, and participation, including many autistic children.
It can also be used for sequencing goals!
Token Reward Board or Sticker Chart
Choose 1–10 stars to match the number of trials or activities you want to complete, and take a picture of the actual item, activity, or reward the child wants. Every child has a different attention capacity, so I wanted to make this so that the number of trials aligns with their abilities.
I created this because I didn’t want to rely on laminated reward boards with predetermined pictures. Sometimes you’re in the middle of a therapy session and discover that a child is motivated by something you didn’t anticipate. With this tool, you can take a quick picture and create a personalized board on the fly, right from your phone or tablet.
That means you can respond to the child’s motivation in the moment instead of having to go home, print something, laminate it, and bring it back next time.
The goal is to make visual reinforcement more flexible and practical for real-life therapy.
Feelings & Regulation Choice Board
Choose one feeling or multiple feelings at the same time, because sometimes we feel many things at once!
Explore different regulation choices for what might help them feel supported
Add personalized photo choices in the moment (such as a favorite toy, activity, calming space, or sensory tool)
I chose emojis intentionally because they are already part of many children’s everyday communication through texting, games, and digital media. Feelings can be very abstract, and pairing a word with a familiar visual can help make those emotions easier to understand, recognize, and communicate.
This tool supports social-pragmatic communication, social-emotional development, and executive functioning by helping children identify and communicate feelings, express needs, choose supportive strategies, and build self-regulation, problem-solving, and independence skills for everyday life.
A Work in Progress
These apps are a work in progress. I’ll continue adding new resources and improving the existing ones as I use them in practice. Please contact me and give me any feedback about features or languages that you might like to see!
About Me
I'm Kaiting Tu Bronson, M.S., CCC-SLP, a multilingual speech-language pathologist providing speech therapy in English, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, and Portuguese for children, teens, and adults in Leander, Cedar Park, and North Austin, Texas, as well as through teletherapy across Texas.
I created these resources because I wanted practical speech therapy tools that I could actually use during therapy and share with families. I’m so grateful to my husband who is a programmer and helped me learn how to vibe code!
My clinical specialties include early language development, autism spectrum disorder, stuttering, and bilingual or multilingual language development. I also believe that speech therapy should be individualized rather than based on a one-size-fits-all approach.
